The park system will host four races this year at different parks and the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Metroparks are launching a new race and walk series across different parks and the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
The race series is a collaboration with CrossCountry Mortgage, the park system said, and will feature four races. The first of the four races will be the Earth Day 5K at the Zoo on April 2. Pre-registration will be open through April 18, with participants receiving free entry into the Zoo, refreshments and a custom race shirt and finisher medal. A portion of the race's proceeds will go to green practices and sustainability efforts at the Zoo.
After the race, families can explore Party for the Planet at the Zoo, a day-long Earth Day celebration with programming for all ages.
