Cleveland's Public Broadcasting Station Completes Rebranding
Viewers will find ideastream has become Ideastream Public Media.

CLEVELAND — Northeast Ohio's public broadcasting stations — WVIZ, WCPN and WCLV — have been rebranded into Ideastream Public Media.
The station was previously known as ideastream. The media group is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Northeast Ohio.
“The original vision of bringing our stations together was that the whole would be greater than the sum of its parts,” said Kevin E. Martin, president and CEO of Ideastream Public Media. “Technologies and media habits have dramatically changed since then. The Ideastream Public Media brand signals our strategy to share more information, arts and culture content and educational resources across our platforms and grow our service to Northeast Ohio.”

Ideastream's leaders cited significant declines in news and information coverage locally. They believe their organization can help close the local journalism gap. Ideastream is leading plans to develop a statewide news collaborative, and is working with local partners via the Northeast Ohio Solutions Journalism Collaborative.
The stations will continue to provide local and national programming, including shows from PBS and NPR. There will also be continued community forums and investment in local journalism, the broadcaster said.

The rebrand was done in collaboration with Long & Short of It, a marketing agency. Besides developing a new logo, Ideastream Public Media will also implement a sidewalk art installation celebrating its new identity and the values it celebrates.
"Our transition to Ideastream Public Media is more than a name and logo change. It signals our evolution and symbolizes us coming together as a unified organization to strengthen our community. To help us further our mission, we need your support as much as we need your voices and ideas. You make everything we do possible. Thank you for being part of our journey," the broadcaster said.
