  1. Cleveland Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday, Jan. 23, around 11:30 p.m. in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood. Timothy Mark Nash, 61, was found shot multiple times at his home in the 2300 block of East 61st Street and was pronounced dead at the scene. (Cleveland.com)
  2. According to a report in the Athletic, former Cleveland right-hander Mike Clevinger, 33, is being investigated by MLB for domestic violence allegations. Olivia Finestead, the mother of the couple’s 10-month-old daughter, told MLB investigators that Clevinger physically, verbally and emotionally abused both her and their daughter. (Cleveland.com)
  3. Yesterday, Jan. 24, Cleveland rapper and music producer Dawud Sami, 42, born Thomas Bradford and known as “Officially GP” was indicted in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. He is being charged with felony counts related to human trafficking, compelling prostitution, and promoting prostitution. According to state prosecutors, Sami also branded his human trafficking victims with the name of his business. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)

  • On Jan. 23, Cleveland Councilperson Mike Polensek, Ward 8, proposed banning Chinese social media platforms like TikTok and WeChat from city-issued devices over spying concerns. According to Polensek, "the Chinese government likely uses the app to influence users, spread misinformation or control users’ devices." (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)
