- Despite income tax refunds by Cleveland’s Central Collection agency in the 2021 tax year being higher than in recent years, it appears the city of Cleveland will still have more income tax revenue than it did the previous year before the pandemic. CCA Tax Administrator Kevin Preslan believes rising wages are what helped offset the possibility of larger losses caused by the increase in refund requests. Preslan estimates refunds to continue to be higher than normal in the tax year 2022 due to workers being entitled to refunds for the periods prior to their employer modifying withholdings. - According to police officials, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s truck was stolen from a car dealership in North Olmsted. According to North Olmsted police Sgt. Matt Beck, Watson’s truck was among five other vehicles that were stolen from the Mercedes Benz dealership on 28450 Lorain Rd., at around 1 a.m. on Jan. 14. Sgt. Beck stated Watson’s truck was found in a ditch on I-480 and Clague Road, with all but two of the stolen cars being found. (Cleveland 19 News)
