CLEVELAND — Cleveland's first local affiliate of Telemundo will launch Jan. 1, 2022. The station will bring Spanish-language newcasts, programming and entertainment to Northeast Ohioans.

Cleveland was one of the largest Hispanic markets in the U.S. without a local Telemundo affiliate. WOIO-TV CBS 19 is helping bringing the station to life in the region.

One of the largest Hispanic markets in the country without a local Telemundo Network affiliate will not have to wait much longer.

“We are excited that Telemundo Cleveland will fill the void for Spanish-language viewers in our market with Telemundo’s great programming as well as two live and locally produced weekday newscasts,” said station Vice President Erik Schrader. “We are honored to provide this important service to the fast-growing Hispanic community in Northeast Ohio.”

The network will include Spanish-language scripted dramas, national news, and non-scripted programming like sporting events and signature musical events like the Billboard Latin Music Awards. In 2022, Telemundo will also air Super Bowl LVI, the Winter Olympics and the FIFA World Cup.
