Thus far, Ohio State hasn’t skipped a beat despite losing 12 players to the NFL. The Buckeyes’ visit to Norman, Oklahoma, though, will be a litmus test as to whether they are a true national title contender. The same can be said for the Sooners. A win Saturday will vault Oklahoma back into the national consciousness after a shaky start to the season.

Ohio State has looked borderline invincible (granted, against vastly inferior opponents), outscoring Bowling Green and Tulsa by a combined 125-13. On Saturday, the Buckeyes ran over the Golden Hurricane for 268 yards and 4 touchdowns, putting quarterback J.T. Barrett in the position of caretaker as opposed to playmaker (he threw for only 149 yards and 0 touchdowns).

Oklahoma has appeared much more vincible, having been upset by Houston in Week One. The Sooners rebounded with a resounding 59-17 win over a weak Louisiana Monroe squad, as quarterback and one-time Heisman Trophy candidate Baker Mayfield threw for 244 yards and 3 touchdowns. Ohio State coach Urban Meyer boasts an impressive 18-0 record in road games with the Buckeyes, but this will be one of his stiffest tests to date.
