- The Ohio State Department of Transportation deployed a convoy of 18 trucks carrying 28 department workers from Cleveland, Akron, and New Philadelphia to New York. The personnel and equipment will help New York state to remove snow following the deadly blizzard that hit the state over the holiday weekend. The workers will be gone for six days. (Fox9 News)
- Federal prosecutors collected $22 million in 2022 from criminal and civil cases in northern Ohio, including Cleveland. Some of the cases that the money was collected from include fraud cases and Medicare billing issues. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
- The Ohio Supreme Court issued a ruling on Thursday that the city of Cleveland will not have to refund $4.1 million in improperly-paid traffic camera tickets issues from 2005 to 2009. The case was filed 13 years ago, before the city voted to shut down the traffic-camera program in Cleveland in 2014. The lawsuit claimed that the city should refund tickets in cases where people drove leased or rented vehicles, as the owner of the vehicle was legally liable to pay for the ticket.
