Pancake Mix Sold At Ohio Kroger, Walmart Stores Recalled

Continental Mills has recalled Kroger and Great Value pancake mixes in Ohio and other states.

OHIO — Some pancake and waffle mixes have been recalled from stores in Ohio and other states because of potential foreign contamination, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

Continental Mills is recalling the mixes from Kroger and Walmart after fragments of a cable used to clear the processing line were found in a "limited amount" of product, officials said. No foreign contaminants have been found by consumers, and no injuries have been reported, according to the recall posting.

The products affected by the recall are the Great Value Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix with lot code KX2063 and a best by date of Sept. 1, 2023 as well as the Kroger Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix with lot codes KX2063 and KX2064 and best by dates of Sept. 1, 2023 and Sept. 2, 2023.

The Great Value products were distributed nationally, while the Kroger mixes were in stores located in Ohio, as well as Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

The FDA and Continental Mills urge customers who have purchased either product under the recall to either dispose of the product or return it to the store for a replacement or refund.
