- A group of Republican leaders are holding a meeting today, Jan. 11, to form a 'third caucus' at the Ohio State House. This decision comes roughly a week after one-third of the House Republicans joined forces with Democrats to elect Republican Jason Stephens as speaker. The third caucus intends to drive the House's agenda regardless of the speaker. State Representative Derek Merrin has been pivotal in this caucus after he lost the role of Speaker to Stephens. According to reports, around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, police were called to Martin Luther King Drive and Corlett Drive in response to a shooting. There they found an 18-year-old man and student at John Adams College & Career Academy dead at a bus stop. He had been sitting at the bus stop after the end of the school day. The situation is still developing. (Cleveland 19 News)
