Richardson Design Names New Partner Kristie Oldham

Kristie Oldham has been named partner of Richardson Design after working together for 10 years.

From Richardson Design: Richardson Design has named Kristie Oldham partner of the Cleveland-based commercial interior design and branding consultancy. Oldham served as Design and Trend Director and has supported Richardson Design since its infancy, joining founder Scott Richardson in 2007 and playing an integral role in the studio’s growing trend forecasting service. She has worked to develop key clients for the studio, including Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar, which was recently featured in Restaurant Development + Design.

The partnership is a long time in the making, Scott Richardson says. “We have always collaborated really well as designers, and this partnership allows us to take the collaboration we bring to clients and use that synergy to grow the firm,” he says.

Oldham adds, “We just work well together,” relating how their partnership over the years has created a solid foundation for delivering impactful design results for clients and expanding every facet of the firm, from interior design to graphic design and trend forecasting.

During the last decade, Richardson Design has grown from a one-person firm to a staff of 14 serving markets across the United States and North America. “This is significant growth, and strengthening leadership by becoming an owner in the business will help position us to drive further growth,” Oldham says.

The natural partnership and aligned goals and strategic direction that Richardson and Oldham share will set the tone for the future, including widening the geographical footprint of Richardson Design and grasping more sought-after clients in the hospitality sector.

Also, the partnership will give the firm more leadership bandwidth to further streamline processes and deliver even better service to clients. Meanwhile, the growing trend consultancy born and cultivated from Oldham’s talent elevates the firm’s credentials and puts it on the radar of Fortune 500 firms seeking this service. “Overall, the partnership is empowering the firm to compete on a larger stage,” Richardson says.

Oldham is an NCIDQ-certified interior designer and professional member of IIDA (International Interior Design Association) whose work connects the dots between function, trends and timeless design. She is known for her innovative, strategic brand development and as the in-house cultural anthropologist at Richardson Design.

Scott Richardson is founder and visionary of the commercial design studio, which has captured loyal clients including Aramark (Sports & Entertainment), KraftMaid, and Michael Symon Restaurants. He was named one of Hospitality Design’s Minds Behind Restaurant Design, and has grown a firm that is a home for some of Northeast Ohio’s best designers.

Oldham and Richardson have been working together for 17 years, collaborating on projects before Oldham dissolved her own firm to join the studio 10 years ago. Together, they look forward to continuing a tradition of delivering a customer-centric design process that truly champions the success of clients’ businesses.
