Suspect ID'd In Killing Of Mayor Frank Jackson's Grandson: PD

Cleveland police took a person into custody this week in connection with the death of Frank Q. Jackson.

CLEVELAND — A suspect has been identified and taken into custody in connection with the death of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson's grandson.

The suspect is Robert Jerome Shephard, 29, according to Fox 8. He was taken into custody and could face charges of aggravated murder.

Frank Q. Jackson was killed on Sept. 29, according to Cleveland police. He was shot near Sidaway and E. 70th St.

A warrant for Shephard's arrest was filed in Cleveland Municipal Court this week, News 5 noted. The 29-year-old is now being held at Cuyahoga County Jail.

In 2019, Frank Q. Jackson was investigated after a woman accused him of attacking her in the parking lot of a gas station. Mayor Jackson had previously defended his relationship with his grandson, arguing he never interfered in any police investigations related to Frank Q.
