After 20 Years, The Winking Lizard in Coventry is Closing
Sad news for chicken wing enthusiasts in Coventry, the Winking Lizard shut its doors for good on Wednesday night. For 19 years, the bar/eatery has been a fixture at 1852 Coventry Rd.
Scene magazine reports that there have been plans for a new location to open in Mayfield and the Coventry store would effectively transfer there. However, the timing for a seamless transfer didn't quite work out.
Owner John Lane told Scene that the building's landlord has found a new tenant so they're making the move now.

βThis is always the best way when youβre closing a restaurant. Itβs tough on the staff when you drag it out.β
Lane added that all of the current employees will have jobs at other Winking Lizard locations.

Coventry will be closing at the end of business tonight- 8/10. We have enjoyed our 19 years here. Thank you for your loyalty & support.
