Do you remember the phrase from the 60's, Power to the People!

Well, the most direct power that residents of Cleveland Heights have is at the ballot box, when voting on an initiative or a referendum. It is more powerful that voting for a candidate, who, once elected, will vote as they may. An initiative is your means to say, "Yes, I want this" or "No, I do not want this".

You can have a chance to vote on creating a park on the 1.07 acre of city-owned land on Lee Road, at the corner of Tullamore Road and Meadowbrook Boulevard.

We must move fast! City Hall is working as fast as they can to give Flaherty & Collins what they want. (How much more can they give them? The proposal includes: renting 4.83 acres of city-owned land to F&C for $10 a year for 99 years, giving F&C a 100% tax abatement for 15 years on the buildings, giving F&C a 30-year TIF (school board must sign off on it), and giving F&C the parking garage.)

Thank you!
