Car Chase Flies Down S. Taylor Road, Vehicle Hits Home
A car crashed into a home near the S. Taylor-Fairmount intersection on early Friday.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β A car chase tore down South Taylor Road on early Friday, ending only when a vehicle went off the road and drove into a home near the Taylor-Fairmount intersection.
The homeowner, John Gall, told News 5 he was asleep in his bungalow when the car slammed into his home. He wondered why police were engaged in such a high-speed pursuit on a largely residential road. After the accident, Gall said he stuck his head out of his window to speak to police.
"Please don't shoot me. I am the homeowner," he told officers, according to Fox 8.

Police claim the car chase hit started at speeds of 40 mph but gradually got faster. Officers decided to stop the pursuit due to the "excessive speed," according to a police report obtained by Patch.
Before the chase could be stopped, the suspect lost control of his car and crashed into Gall's home, police said.
The driver was taken into custody by police after the accident but was taken to University Hospitals to be reviewed by a doctor.
