Friends of Heights Library Launches Art Contest
Artists must submit work that represents the theme ο»Ώ'books are the bridge to the world'

The FRIENDS of the Heights Libraries is hosting a community art contest as way to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the footbridgeβs grand opening at and the new .
People who are 18 and older are welcome to submit one piece of original artwork in any medium, but following a theme β The artwork must be two-dimensional, and be 2 x 3 feet or smaller, according to a press release from the FRIENDS. Contestants have until Sept. 30 to register and submit their work, but only 30 pieces will be accepted.
The entries will be exhibited at the cafΓ© at Lee Road Library, and the community will be the judge. The work will be featured in October, and library visitors will be given one voting ballot for each dollar spent at the cafΓ©. The winner will receive a cash prize of $150 and be announced in November.
