Get Ready For The Pie Fight And More Tips For The Week Ahead

Here's Five Things you need to know to get your week going in Cleveland Heights.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Cleveland Heights to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Bring A Pie And Throw It At People (For Fun)

Get a pie and warm up your arm because this Thursday night is th5th Annual Classic Cartoon & Pie Fight in PEACE Park

It starts at 9 p.m. Thursday with showing classic cartoons and Three Stooges episodes on the lawn of Coventry School.

After the movies things get sticky. That's when the pie fight in the PEACE Park playground begins. That's at the corner of Euclid Heights, Washington Heights and Coventry.

2. Stretch Away Your Worries With Yoga In The Yard

Join certified yoga instructor Marcia Hudgel for an hour long outdoor vinyasa flow practice in the privacy of a Cleveland Heights back yard at 3363 East Scarborough Road. This is a beginner friendly class.

Class costs $8 with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Cleveland APL.

Class begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Visit the Patch event listing for more info.

3. Meet The Police

Cleveland Heights regularly holds Meet the Police events to give residents a way to learn about how the police department works and ask questions about issues.

The next one is 6 p.m. Thursday in the lower level atrium of City Hall.

4. Learn About Your Local Government

The Cleveland Heights City Council Committee of the Whole meets at 5:45 p.m. Monday in the executive conference room at city hall. That's a fancy way of saying the city council gets together and discusses issues important to the community.

The meeting is open to the public, so stop in and learn about how government works.

5. Free Parking Weekend

The only thing better than finding a great parking spot is if that spot is free. Cleveland Heights is holding its monthly free parking weekend this weekend, starting Friday, July 26, through Sunday, July 28.

This started last year as a way to encourage residents to frequent local businesses.
