Heights Arts Opening Tonight, Gallery Talk Saturday
Newest exhibit highlights photographer contact sheets

is hosting an opening reception from 6 to 9 tonight for its newest exhibit, Found Contacts: Overlooked selections from 20th century American photographic studios, which was organized by Lisa Kurzner.
The show runs through Oct. 22 and features contact sheets, which photographers use to preview a series of shots before developing an image.
βThe contact sheet β now on the verge of extinction β captures the working life and thought processes of photographers by mapping out the sequence of shots on roll film in the studio or on the street,β wrote Heights Arts in a press release. βChoice, timing and bracketing are terms identified with proof sheets that record the unfolding relationships between the photographer and his subject.β
