Huron Hospital Holding Community Meeting Tonight

The hospital is inviting residents to tonight's open forum

Β scheduled a meeting tonight for people in the community who want to discuss the needs of East Cleveland and the surrounding community in light of the Cleveland Clinic's decision to close the facility.Β 

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. atΒ The Living Truth Center for Better Living,
1850 Belmore Road, East Cleveland.

Some residents and local city and council members are , and are afraid that other facilities are not close enough to East Cleveland and surrounding areas to quickly care for people in life-threatening situations.Β 

The Clinic said the in the city has led to the decline in patients using the hospital.Β

"Huron Hospital currently has less than 100 patients a day and less than 60 percent of the 185 staffed beds are occupied," the hospital said in aΒ press release posted on its website. "Huron Hospital's facilities are aging and have required extensive resources over the years."
