Kevin Ziegler Withdraws from City Council Race

The Cleveland Heights City Council candidate announced that he would no longer run for a seat

announced today that he is withdrawing from the Cleveland Heights City Council race.Β 

"Right now I am helping to manage a health issue affecting a member of my family, and in light of this and the significant commitment it takes to put forth a strong campaign and to serve in office, I have decided to withdraw my candidacy," Ziegler wrote on his campaign website.Β 

The 26-year-oldΒ is a member of the Cleveland Heights Citizens Advisory Committee, which gives recommendations to council about how money from theΒ Β should be distributed.Β

Ziegler, who is a manager of communications and public affairs for the Cleveland Clinic, thanked residents for their support.Β 

"I intend to stay civically involved in Cleveland Heights. My interaction with residents affirmed that Cleveland Heights is an attractive community with engaged voters who are eager for energetic leadership and investment in our city."
