Man Completes 900-Mile Ride for Parkinson's Research

Doug Bahniuk finished his ride Aug. 8, and you can read about it on his blog

On July 15, , who was about to embark on a 900-mile bike ride through treacherous roads in Alaska without a partner or a cellphone.

His goal was to complete the journey by early August.Β 

The 58-year-old has Parkinson’s disease, and rode from an area called Deadhorse, AK, to Anchorage to raise money for research into the illness.

Despite some of the challenges he encountered β€” brutal winds, giant potholes and late food delivery, just to name a few β€” he completed his ride Aug. 8. You can read all about his experience on his blog, Doug Wild's Ride.Β
