Phoenix on Lee Road Burglarized This Morning
Baristas walked in to find the glass door shattered and money on the floor

Employees at the Lee Road said someone broke in early this morning and stole money from the register.Β
"We saw the door was shattered, the alarm was going off and we walked in and the register was destroyed, and the money was gone out of it," said Nick Wise, barista at Phoenix Coffee.
He arrived around 5:30 this morning.Β

"We called the cops, and they showed up pretty quickly and took fingerprints and took some pictures," Wise said. "We tried to clean up as quickly as possible."
Wise said that there was glass and some money on the floor, but he wasn't sure how much they stole.Β

"We assume they panicked because the alarm is pretty loud."Β
The coffee shop is open today, and the employees seem to be keeping a positive attitude.Β
"No one was hurt, and the coffee is still here, so that's important stuff," said one barista who answered the phone.Β
This is the second incident for the Phoenix shops in Cleveland Heights in the past few weeks. Last week we reported that the Phoenix on Coventry said June 12.
