Police Blotter: 2 Cleveland Heights Residents Hit By Cars

A man said he was turning left onto Lee Road from Cedar Road around 4 p.m. Feb. 24 when he heard a thud and realized he had hit someone. He got out of his car and saw he had struck a child. He took the boy to the boy’s home, where he called police. Police said the child was not hurt seriously.

Truck hits man and flees

A Cleveland Heights man said he was walking near Yellowstone and Mayfield roads at 4:23 p.m. Feb. 25 when he was hit by a red truck. The person driving fled. The man hit was not taken to the hospital, according to the report. officers found the car, a red Chevy Blazer, but have not arrested a suspect. Police are still investigating.

Caller alerts police about possible break-in, leads to arrestΒ 

A concerned resident called police just after midnight Feb. 25 and reported a possible break-in on the 2700 block of Noble Road. When police arrived, they saw a man standing by a broken window. They arrested the suspect, a 22-year-old from Cleveland Heights, and charged him with criminal mischief. Police said he has four active warrants with the city.
