Police Blotter: Man Said Shots Fired on Ivydale Road

Man said someone he knows fired a gun at him

A Cleveland Heights man said someone he knows came to a home on the 1500 block of Ivydale Road Sept. 29 and fired a gun twice at him outside. The suspect missed, and no one was hurt. Police are still investigating, and haven't made an arrest.

Man arrested on robbery charges

A woman said she was walking near the 2700 block of Hampshire Road Sept. 27 when three men in a gold Acura pulled up beside her. She told police they tried to make conversation, and when she declined the passenger in the car got out, yanked her purse from her, and they fled. Police found one suspect, a 20-year-old from Cleveland, and arrested him on robbery charges.

Three robberies reported on Desota Avenue

A Cleveland Heights resident said he was walking on the 3400 block of Desota on Sept. 27 around 2:40 p.m. when man came up to him, hit him and stole his phone. The victim dropped his backpack and took off after the suspect. When the victim returned, he found that someone had also stolen his bag.

On the same day around 4:05 p.m., A Cleveland Heights resident said he was walking near Desota and South Taylor Road when a man pushed him and took his bag, which had his laptop in it. Police found the stolen bag, but his laptop was gone.

A 16-year-old Cleveland Heights resident said around 5 p.m. the same day he was threatened by two young men on the 3300 block of Desota. He dropped his bag and skateboard and ran away from the suspects. Later, police found a 16-year-old from East Cleveland who matched the description the victim provided, and they arrested him for robbery.

Police said the victims' descriptions of the suspects did not match.

  • A 20-year-old Cleveland Heights man was arrested on burglary charges Sept. 26. According to police, he tried to get into a home on the 2900 block of Euclid Heights Boulevard. The victim said he knew the suspect, and that he was carrying a gun. Police chased him on foot and found him. He did not have a weapon.Β
