Shot Fired During Middle School Football Game In East Cleveland
"It is a total miracle that someone was not seriously injured or killed," East Cleveland police said.
EAST CLEVELAND, OH β A shot was fired outside Shaw Stadium in East Cleveland while two middle school teams were on the gridiron.
No one was hurt from the gunfire, according to East Cleveland police. Officers were able to quickly track down the people who shot the gun β three women and one man β and take one of them into custody. The woman who claimed to have fired the gun said she did so to scare off a group of juveniles who were threatening to attack them, Cleveland 19 reported.
"It is a total miracle that someone was not seriously injured or killed," East Cleveland police said on social media.

East Cleveland's middle school football team was playing Shaker Heights Middle School. All of the students were able to return home safely, according to Cleveland 19.

It was part of a particularly long and harrowing day for Shaker Heights students. Earlier on Wednesday, an anonymous caller phoned in a bomb threat to Shaker Heights High, forcing the evacuation of the building while police searched the campus.
Ultimately, no threat was found and students returned to class.
