Youth Group Disagrees With Council's Proposal to Extend Curfew to Severance
The Youth of Coventry will host a meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday to discuss the Cleveland Heights curfew laws

A group of 12- to 25-year-olds that calls itself the Youth of Coventry once to implement a 6 p.m. curfew in the Coventry and Cedar Lee business districts.
Now, members of the about 80-person group believe the city should revoke its early curfew policy, not area as proposed.
"Our original understanding of the curfew was that it was to be a summer thing because thatβs when a lot of kids are going to be out and about. Now that itβs (well) into the school year, thereβs no need for it," said John Nelson, a member of Youth of Coventry. "People are not out, they're inside or in the library doing work."

The group is hosting a meeting at the at 1 p.m. Sunday to brainstorm alternatives to an early curfew, and to try and stop the law from being extended, Nelson said.
"We will speak up and out against this. I will be at the next council meeting," he said.
