Stark County Health Department To Offer Influenza Vaccine Every Tuesday

(Jackson Twp., OH) – The Stark County Health Department’s Nursing Services will offer the influenza (flu) vaccine every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday, October 5. The department is also using their campaign, “A Shot for the Flu Helps Protect You!,” to remind residents of the importance of receiving their flu vaccine during the global COVID-19 pandemic. There are many providers around Stark County including primary care offices. The Stark County Health department asks residents to make an appointment for the vaccine by calling (330) 493-9928 extension 2047. The department is located at 7235 Whipple Ave., NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720.

“It is important to protect yourself from the seasonal flu to help prevent illness, reduce the risk of hospitalization, and can protect those around you,” said Health Commissioner Kirkland Norris, RS, MPH.
COVID-19 vaccine clinics with the department will continue to only offer the COVID-19 vaccine. The health department will offer the flu vaccine during all other adult and child vaccine clinics regularly hosted at the department. Here is a full list of clinics offered:

- Adult Vaccine Clinics
- Every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Child Vaccine Clinics
- 1st and 4th Monday of every month from 12:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
- Reproductive Health and Wellness Clinics
- Every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Every Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Tuberculosis Clinics
- Every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Flu vaccines will also be offered at the outlying vaccine clinic schedule for children at the following locations:
- Christ United Methodist Church, 600 E. Gorgas St., Louisville, Ohio 44641. Hosted on the first Tuesday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If Louisville City Schools does not have school due to inclement weather, then the clinic will be closed.
- St. Jacobs Lutheran Church, 1460 State St. N.E., North Canton, Ohio 44721. Hosted on the second Monday of every month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. If Lake Local Schools does not have school due to inclement weather, then the clinic will be closed.
- Canal Fulton Christian Fellowship Church, 2021 Locust St. S., Canal Fulton, Ohio 44614. Hosted on the third Tuesday of every month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. If Northwest Local Schools does not have school due to inclement weather, then the clinic will be closed.
- Fohl Memorial United Methodist Church, 121 Basin St., Navarre, Ohio 44662. Hosted on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If Fairless Local Schools does not have school due to inclement weather, then the clinic will be closed.
“We hope that our residents will help protect our community by getting their flu vaccine and, if they haven’t already, to roll up their other sleeve to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that it is safe for the flu and COVID-19 vaccines to given at the same time.”
Those residents wanting to schedule an appointment for their COVID-19 vaccine (those 12 years of age and older) can schedule through ArmorVax.com and on the mobile app for Apple and Android devices. Those that are minors, 12 to 17 year old’s, must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian to their vaccine appointment. The parent or legal guardian must sign a consent form upon checking in at the clinics. However, those that do not have access to a computer, internet or who have difficulty using ArmorVax, may still call the registration phone line at 330.451.1681 to schedule an appointment.
