About 900 AT&T Headlands Area Customers Lose Service

Snagged line results in service outage.

A delivery truck snagged a phone line this afternoon, leaving nearly 900 AT&T customers without service.

Captain Kenneth Gunsch said a Superior Beverage truck hit a low-hanging line as it was making a delivery on Jordan Drive. As a result, the lines of residents east of Corduroy Road and north of Jordan Drive are inoperable.

AT&T representatives told the city that lines should be working again within 24 hours, Gunsch said. They are already on-site working on repairs.

"There's a bunch of lines they've got to splice together, that's what takes so long," Gunsch said. "One guy thinks they'll be back by 2 a.m., but we're going to err (on the side of caution).

"Each hour, you'll start to see people's lines back up."
