The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.6% to 3.3% for the month of September 2021. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 6.3%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.9% as well to 3.6% for the month of September; one year ago, it was 7.0%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, the City of Mentor’s 3.3% unemployment rate is the lowest and Lakewood has the second lowest rate at 3.4%. Kettering is third with 4.1%, followed by Cuyahoga Falls and Cleveland Hts. with 4.4%. The City’s civilian labor force decreased to 25,500.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.5% to 4.6% for the month of September 2021.
