Daniel Troy Opts Out Of State Legislature Race
Instead, Troy has decided to finish the remaining two years of his term as a Lake County commissioner

Lake County Commissioner Daniel Troy has decided against running for a seat in the Ohio House of Representatives.
He was the Democratic candidate for the 60th district, this March.
Instead, Troy opted to finish the two years he has remaining on his term as a commissioner. He has already filed the necessary paperwork with the Lake County Board of Elections.

Troy told The News-Herald that he decided against running in part because of the lack of bipartisanship cooperation in Columbus.
Earlier this week, for why he was not seeking re-election, except he was talking about Washington D.C. as opposed to Columbus.

The Lake County Democratic Party can name the nominee who will replace Troy on the ballot. Troy recommended Mentor-on-the-Lake Mayor John Rogers, according to The News-Herald.
Whoever is selected will run against Republican Lori DiNallo who ran unopposed in the primary.
The representatives' 60th district is an open race without an incumbent because its current representative, Bob Hagan, now lives in the 58th district and will be running there.
Due to Ohio's redistricting, the city of Mentor is now split between two districts for state representatives.
The 60th district includes the fourth ward of Mentor, Mentor-on-the-Lake, Eastlake, Fairport, Grand River, Painesville, parts of Painesville Township, Wickliffe, Willoughby and Willowick.
