Garfield National Park Closed Today For Repaving
James A. Garfield National Historic Site will re-open Thursday, weather permitting

will be closed today so contractors can repave the park's driveway and parking lot.
"This resurfacing of our entrance drive and parking area helps maintain and extend the useful life of these paved areas,” said Sherda Williams, the park superintendent.
"Because this is the site’s only entrance, we cannot safely bring visitors onto the property during this re-paving job. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause visitors."

The park is expected to open for its regular hours tomorrow once the pavement has set.
Inclement weather is the only reason the timing of the pavement work could change. We will update the story if heavy rain forces the park to change plans.
