Join The Mutt Strut Today At Civic Center Park

The annual event raises money for the Lake Humane Society

If you're wondering what all those dogs are doing outside of Mentor City Hall today, it's not a puppy protest.

It's the  18th annual Mutt Strut.

The annual event coincides with the animal shelter's 75th anniversary so they're hoping to make it the biggest Mutt Strut yet.

The pledge walk is from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at Civic Center Park. It raises money for the abandoned, injured and homeless animals at Lake Humane Society.

Even if you haven't raised pledge money to walk with your dog, you can still check out the event.

The fee to attend is $15 for anyone older than 12 and $10 for anyone 12 or younger.

Of course, dog owners are welcome to bring their canine companions.

If a person doesn't have a pooch of their own, several dogs from the shelter will be at the Strut and available for adoption.

The Mutt Strut also features several vendors selling products designed for dogs or their owners, as well as an agility course, games, contests and food from MotorMouth Food Truck. (Five percent of MotorMouth's proceeds will go to Lake Humane Society.)
