Kids Can Play With Their Food This Saturday At Great Lakes Mall

Super Duper Mini Chefs -- a free culinary event for kids -- returns to Great Lakes Mall this Saturday

Kids can create their own recipes for fun during the Super Duper Mini Chefs event, which returns this Saturday at .

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., aspiring young cooks and nascent foodies can explore the creativity of cuisine through a combination of demonstrations, activities and games.

These activities include making macaroni necklaces, pretzel rolling with Auntie Anne's Pretzels, making sundaes with Max & Erma, as well as special demonstrations from the .

Kids can also try out the new iCarly Groovy Foodie! game, which was released to stores this week.

"This is a great opportunity for area kids to roll up their sleeves and play with their food, while also learning a thing or two," said Renee Lanzara, the director of marketing and business development for Great Lakes Mall.

Also, representatives from Hillcrest Hospital and the Willoughby Hills Family Health Center will be at the mall. They will help kids become Super Germbusters by teaching them the proper way to wash their hands.

Finally, as part of the event, kids are encouraged to help those in need by bringing a nonperishable food item to the mall, which will be donated to a local food bank.
