Lanes Closing Because Of Route 2 Construction

Eastbound lanes on Route 2 between Route 91 and Route 306 exits will be affected

Crews on behalf of the Ohio Department of Transportation have started corrective work on both the east and westbound lanes of State Route 2 between Route 91 and Route 306 through Mentor and Willoughby.

Motorists will see equipment, signs and construction barrels arrive on the project to prepare for the July 30 start date. 

From July 30 through August 1, crews will close the left lane on Route 2 eastbound between Route 91 and Route 306 for 20 hours from 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. the following day in order to perform pavement repairs.

Overnight on August 2, crews will close the left two lanes on SR 2 eastbound between Route 91 and Route 306 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

On August 3 at 7 p.m., crews will close the left two lanes on SR 2 eastbound between Route and Route 306 until 6 a.m. August 6.

Weekend and daily lane and ramp closures are expected to continue, however work will not impact peak travel times.  Repairs will take place on the eastbound portion first and the westbound corrections will commence when the eastbound is complete. The project is scheduled to be complete in November 2012.
