Mentor Pools Open This Weekend

The city of Mentor cannot stop the sun from blazing.

It cannot drop the temperature another 20 degrees.

However, it can offer you a respite from the heat.

The city's three pools (at , and ) and two splash parks open this Saturday. They will stay open until the end of August 26.

The pools, while refreshing, are not free. People can pay daily rates (between $5 and $6 depending on age and the pool's location) or get aquatic season passes.

For $55, a Mentor adult can swim at all three parks for the entire summer. Passes for Mentor kids or seniors cost $45. Nonresidents pay twice as much for seasonal passes.

Mentor Parks and Recreation also offers swimming classes for all skill levels, from beginning swimmers to lifeguard training courses.
