Street Lights Off On Center Street, Mentor Avenue

A car hit a street light controller on Monday night, leaving stretches of lights out of commission, the city said.

MENTOR, OH — Some street lights on Center Street and Mentor Avenue will be out of commission for several weeks, the city confirmed Wednesday.

On Monday night, a street light controller — near Center Street and Mentor Avenue — was hit by a car. Since that accident, a city spokesperson said, the overhead street lights on Center, between Johnnycake Ridge Road and Mentor Avenue lost power. Additionally, street lights on Mentor Avenue, between Center and Cadle Avenue, are also out of operation.

"Affected residents and motorists are advised that it will likely be several weeks until replacement parts are delivered, and repairs can be completed," said Ante Logarusic, Mentor's community relations administrator.
