Suspected Drug Dealer Calls Police After Deal Goes Bad

A Mentor man who is suspected of selling drugs called police after someone skedaddled without paying him, according to police.

Walter Asuma met Timothy Lunato at a gas station on Lake Shore Boulevard on May 20 with the intention of selling him some Percocet, Mentor Police Lt. Dan Molnar said.

However, when Lunato, 26, of Eastlake, got his pills he refused to pay. Instead, he got in his car and drove away, Molnar said.

Asuma, 52, and his 18-year-old daughter, Jessica Asuma-Barty, followed in her car.

They chased Lunato to the intersection of Lake Shore and Andrews Road when Lunato got out of his car and punched Asuma in the face, Molnar said.

Lunato then drove away again.

When the Asumas lost Lunato, they called Mentor Police.

Mentor Police, in turn, charged Asuma with a felony count of trafficking and drugs and his daughter with permitting drug abuse and possession of criminal tools.

They were both arraigned last week in .

When police contacted Lunato, he turned himself in. He was charged with robbery, drug possession, theft, possession of criminal tools and assault.

Judge John Trebets arraigned him Tuesday and set his bond at $120,000 which was not posted.

Lunato's next court hearing is scheduled for this Thursday.
