Update On The Man Who Nearly Drowned During Triathlon At Headlands State Beach Park
Another triathlete says the man is in critical condition with internal bleeding and swelling of the brain

An update about the at Headlands State Beach Park has been posted on a page for a Facebook group named Cleveland Tri Club.
A triathlete named Bill Haddix wrote, "(the man) is in the hospital in critical condition with swelling on the brain and internal bleeding. He's in his 30s and has two young children."
Haddix added that a fundraiser is being planned for him on September 23rd and more details will be provided when they are available.

The name of the 34-year-old man has not been released yet. The firefighters who transported him to TriPoint Medical Center Sunday cannot release his name because of privacy laws.

The man was pulled onto shore by other swimmers and then bystanders began performing CPR on him, Mentor Fire Lt. Ron Zak said.
Then race staff, who were equipped with a defibrillator, provided care. They also transferred him to an ambulance when it arrived at the beach.
The man was taken to TriPoint Medical Center, which is his last known location.
