Watch: Gunslingers Show Off Their Fast Hands At Quick Draw Competition

Hot hands from all over the region compete to see who can draw, shoot and hit the target the fastest

Some of the fastest gunslingers in the region gathered at Marine Corps League this weekend in Mentor for the annual Northcoast National Gunslinger Championships.

They tested their speed in single gun, double gun and showdown competitions, as well as Rolling Thunder in which the shooters used a six-shooter, rifle and shotgun to clear out a fictional saloon.

They came from all over Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania and even farther to compete.

Some of the gunslingers can react to the high sign, pull their six-shooter, fire a bullet and hit a target in a quarter of a second.

But the shooters said they didn't just come for the competition, they came for the fellowship.

"It's not just the shooters," said Gary Rosen, who came all the way from Minnesota. "It's who you shoot with. The Ohio people are a tight group and they're really welcoming."

"I like to say that they want to beat you at the line but they never beat you down," his wife Diana Rosen said. "They're happy for you when you do well and they cheer you on."
