Woman Accused Of Hitting Estranged Husband With Her Car

The woman attacked her husband after hearing he was out with another woman, according to Mentor Police

A Mentor woman is accused of hitting her estranged husband with her car after hearing that he was out with another woman, Mentor Police Lt. Ken Zbiegien said.

Shortly before midnight on Friday, Jennifer Krejci got a call from a family member who told her that William Krejci was riding toward the 306 Lounge with another woman on the back of his motorcycle, Zbiegien said.

Jennifer Krejci, 47, got in her Ford Mustang and drove until she spotted William Krejci sitting on his motorcycle in the bar's parking lot.

A witness told police that Jennifer Krejci drove over the sidewalk, narrowly missed hitting another car and crashed into the side of William Krejci's bike, Zbiegien said.

The collision knocked William Krejci onto the ground and caused the bike to topple onto his leg.

The falling bike also struck the 35-year-old woman who was standing nearby.

Jennifer Krejci then got out of her car and cussed at William Krejci as she repeatedly stomped on his head, Zbiegien said.

She then drove away as witnesses called the police.

William Krejci had injuries to his right leg and head but he refused to go to the hospital. Instead, paramedics from the Mentor Fire Department gave him medical treatment right there.

The Krejcis are still legally married but live separately, Zbiegien said.

Mentor Police went to Jennifer Krejci's home where she admitted to striking his bike with her car, Zbiegien said.

"She said she just wanted to scare him -- 'rattle his cage,' as she said it," Zbiegien said.

Police arrested Jennifer Krejci on a charge of felonious assault. When officers searched her, they found a small plastic container with white powder -- thought to be bath salts -- in her shorts pocket, as well as a straw, Zbiegien said.

Consequently, police also charged Krejci with felony drug possession and a misdemeanor count of drug paraphernalia.

Jennifer Krejci was arraigned this morning in . Judge John Trebets set her bond at $60,000, which was not posted.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 9.
