🌱 Cenovus Closes Deal On Toledo Refinery + Fostoria Child Crime Sting

- "Water and foam runoff" from the East Palestine firefighters who responded to the train crash site is being shipped to the Vickery Environmental "deep-well hazardous waste facility" in Sandusky County.
- Fostoria Police arrested 27-year-old Lake schools track coach Kevin Crowe, a Springfield Schools employee, and a New Riegel volunteer coach as part of their Internet Crimes Against Children Operation.

- Canadian company Cenovus Energy has completed its purchase of the BP-Husky Toledo Refinery, which will now be known as the Cenovus Toledo Refinery. Cenovus previously acquired 50% of the company but the new deal is worth roughly $370 million. (WTOL)
- "Water and foam runoff" from the East Palestine firefighters who responded to the train crash site is being shipped to the Vickery Environmental "deep-well hazardous waste facility" in Sandusky County. The site receives "three to four truckloads a day in 5,500 gallon tankers," though processing hazardous materials is nothing new for the company. (WTVG)
- Fostoria Police arrested 27-year-old Lake schools track coach Kevin Crowe, a Springfield Schools employee, and a New Riegel volunteer coach as part of their Internet Crimes Against Children Operation. Fostoria Police Chief Gabe Wedge stated the more than a dozen perpetrators caught, some traveling as far as Erie, PA, will now be marked as predators in the system to keep children safe. (WTVG)
- Sixteen new CASA volunteers were sworn in at the Lucas County Juvenile Court on Tuesday. "Court Appointed Special Advocates" help abused and neglected children in court cases after receiving 40 hours of training. (WTOL)
- Michael Barone grew up in Toledo enjoying the authentic Italian bread his mother Rosie made. After starting the restaurant named in her honor, Barone has successfully sold his 'hot mama bread' as a grocery store item since the early 1990s. (The News-Messenger)
