Ohio woman sentenced in case of missing child (timesobserver.com) — A Toledo woman has been sentenced to up to five years of probation after admitting to concealing the whereabouts of her 14-year-old daughter in a multi-state case. Pennsylvania authorities detailed how the girl was reported missing, tracked via license plate readers and phone data, and later found in Ohio, leading to reduced charges but a felony conviction.
   

2. Donna Ciaffaglione (thebradentontimes.com) — Toledo is mourning the passing of 97-year-old Donna Jean Ciaffaglione, a longtime resident who once owned and operated manufactured home parks in Toledo and nearby communities. Friends can pay respects at Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania on Monday and attend funeral services Tuesday, with entombment at Toledo Memorial Park.
   

3. Hundreds of area needy to receive winter coats, clean as new (toledoblade.com subscription) — Hundreds of Toledo-area residents in need will soon receive freshly cleaned winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves collected through a drive supported by Toledo-based Shrader Tire and Oil. Perrysburg’s Cousino Restoration & Environmental volunteers washed and packaged about 300 coats, which will be distributed by Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo, Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission, and other local agencies before Christmas.
   

4. No early outbreaks of COVID, influenza; experts warn peak season is approaching (toledoblade.com subscription) — Toledo health experts say local COVID and flu activity remains relatively low right now, but they warn cases typically spike in January and February. Specialists from the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department and University of Toledo Medical Center stress vaccines, handwashing, masks for vulnerable people, and early treatment as the best ways to stay safe heading into peak season.
   

5. BGSU women's basketball defeats Lourdes in inaugural meeting between teams (toledoblade.com subscription) — Toledo-area hoops fans saw several local standouts shine as Lourdes University, featuring Toledo Christian grad Kaylona Butler and other northwest Ohio products, visited BGSU for the programs’ first-ever meeting. Bowling Green rolled to a 104-76 win behind Paige Kohler’s historic triple-double, while Lourdes used the matchup to boost exposure for its largely local roster.
