- The YWCA of Northwest Ohio and Toledo Public Schools are seeing success through their AMEND Together club that aims to educate young men about healthy relationships. YWCA Vice President Karyn McConnell reports most women's shelters are usually at capacity and often because of partner violence. (WTVG)
- A Lucas County jury found 20-year-old Amir Hashim guilty of murder and attempted murder for two separate 2022 shootings. Hashim was initially arrested for shooting 57-year-old Ernest Artis on May 5, 2022 when it was discovered he shot and killed 18-year-old Phillip Cunningham on April 25, 2022 inside a Lagrange Street home. - Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has allocated funds to help low-income families pay for driving training. $575,000 will be given to 24 local governmental agencies including Toledo Public Schools to help address the amount of fatal accidents that occur in Ohio each year. (WTVG)
- The Ability Center and Adams Street Publishing are seeking nominations for this year's Disability Friendly Awards. Any local business, restaurant, workplace, shopping center, etc. may be nominated for the award, which aims to inspire more businesses to embrace accessibility. (WNWO NBC 24)
- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) proposed a $156,250 fine along with 10 safety violations after concluding its investigation into the BP-Husky Refinery fire that killed two workers in 2022. BP was found to have violated the U.S. Dept. of Labor's "process safety procedures for highly hazardous materials" along with failures in training for catastrophic events. (WNWO)
