Here are the top stories today in Toledo:

  1. Toledo Police attempted to stop a car in South Toledo near the Anthony Wayne Trail before a chase ensued through northbound I-75 and ended with a crash at the Bancroft exit. TPS observed two suspects flag down a bus before calling TARTA and facilitating the arrest "without further incident." (WTVG)
  2. A rescue mission turned into a recovery effort after Toledo Fire & Rescue crews responded to calls that a person fell from the Anthony Wayne Bridge Thursday evening around 4:00 PM. The U.S. Coast Guard and Air Station Detroit assisted in the search efforts, which may resume tomorrow. (WTOL)
  3. The Greater Toledo Community Foundation celebrated its contribution to the Glass City Riverwalk and Rain Tower Plaza on Thursday. The $400,000 gift was mostly focused on the Rain Towers, which "will spray water, turning a warming station in the winter into a cooling station in the summer" according to Metroparks Toledo Executive Director Dave Zenk.   4. Toledo Public Schools will install "high-tech cameras on all of its school buses" that will document incidents and ensure safety while students are boarding. The cameras will also be able to identify drivers disobeying traffic laws such as driving through a stop sign to provide to the Toledo Police or Ohio State Patrol. (WTVG)
  5. "Merrill Wyatt draws inspiration from Toledo area" in her mystery novel series "Tangled Up" as well as "Ernestine, Catastrophe Queen." Wyatt will appear at the Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival at Rossford Junior-Senior High School on March 18. (WNWO)
