Using Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headsets, students will interact with tutors in a virtual space that provides them the ability to learn and understand difficult concepts through “hands-on” work, including the ability to create an image in a 3D space.

Scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. in Carlson Library Room 0200, the virtual reality tutoring showcase is for anyone interested in learning more or stepping into the virtual reality space.

“UToledo students now have access to a state-of-the-art tool through virtual reality tutoring,” said Tia Tucker, director of Academic Support Services. “We are excited to offer this unique platform to contribute to student success by providing experiential learning to support academic instruction outside of the classroom.”

UToledo is beta testing the technology through the VRedu pilot program, which is operated by LEC’s partner, Tutor Matching Service, which connects students with private tutors.
