The public safety center, which opened last year, is located on the southwest corner of Dorr Street and Secor Road.

The Public Safety Center replaced the UToledo Police Department offices in the Transportation Building, which has been demolished, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s post on Airport Highway near Swanton. The combined facility features separate spaces for each department, but the agencies share some areas, such as training rooms, interview rooms and in-custody processing space.

“We are proud to show the community our resources and share how UToledo’s partnership with the Ohio State Highway Patrol enhances public safety and lessens costs for both agencies,” said UToledo Police Chief Jeff Newton.

The event includes tours, free pizza and giveaways, as well as UToledo mascots Rocky and Rocksy.
