The event is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at University Hall Room 4280 or virtually via Webex. Speakers will present for 20 minutes, which will follow with a Q&A session.

This is the first in a semester-long series of student research showcases, which have been a tradition for more than a decade.

“It’s a great way to share the fantastic research that our students do with a larger audience and a good professional development opportunity for our students,” said Dr. Sharon Barnes, associate professor and chair of the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies.

The showcase provides students an outlet to discuss their findings further than the classroom and to share their work with the community and educate one another on the growing number of gender issues across the world.

“Sexism, racism, classism and other forms of oppression based on religion, ability, etc. happen in all sectors of society,” Barnes said. “We are here to investigate and hopefully help eliminate them all.”
