Love-A-Stray Cat Video Highlights Of The Year

When Patch was launched in Ohio, one of the things I hoped to do was help out local pet rescue/adoption group Love-A-Stray.

The original plan was to highlight the pets available for adoption with a short story and photo.

Then it hit me. Patch is a multimedia site. Why not show the cats at the Avon shelter in a whole new way?

With the generous assistance of shelter director , and the always-game Marge Spaeth, I began producing cat videos over the summer. And some good things happened. People started watching the vidoes. Cats started getting adopted.

And then along came . Her story of grief after the death of her owner touched hearts around the area. I got emails asking if Bouncy had been adopted yet. The following week, I was able to show after being adopted by someone who saw the video and reached out to Love-A-Stray. It was one of those "I love my job" days.

Making the videos has been a blast. And there has been loads of fun footage I wasn't able to use, either because it didn't fit into the video, or the cats were adopted before I got their video online. 

Rather than let such cuteness and hilarity go to waste, I put together a video and, with original music from Bob Conner, created a little bit of fun. Thanks again to Ellen, Marge and all the Love-A-Stray volunteers.
