PHONE SCAM ALERT

It has been reported to the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office that our citizens are being contacted as part of a phone scam. The caller is identifying himself as a Mahoning County Deputy Sheriff and states that he is contacting you because you missed jury duty. Furthermore, he states that a warrant has been issued for your arrest unless you pay a bounty of $3,000.

Please know that the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office will never contact anyone over the phone to solicit money or to advise you of a warrant. If you happen to receive a phone call from this scammer, please hang up immediately.
