• Rescue Mission Highlights Impact on the Valley (businessjournaldaily.com) — Youngstown’s Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley reports serving more than 130,600 meals and nearly 58,000 nights of emergency shelter to neighbors in need over the past year. Backed by $3.6 million in community support and thousands of volunteer hours, the mission also offers transitional and pre-employment programs to help local residents regain stability.
   

• Youngstown Approves Contract for Riverfront Improvements (businessjournaldaily.com) — Youngstown has approved a nearly $2 million contract to upgrade Spring Common Park and the West Avenue boat launch, with work expected to start soon and finish by the end of July. Funded in part by a state waterfront grant, the project will add new parking, restrooms, a riverfront boardwalk and landscaping. City officials also finalized a tax-sharing payment to Girard tied to Vallourec operations.
   

• Youngstown man appears on domestic violence charge (tribtoday.com) — A Youngstown man is facing domestic violence and related charges after Liberty police say he was seen punching a woman in a car and then running before being stunned and arrested. He later requested treatment at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and is being held on bond, with a pretrial hearing set for Dec. 24 in Girard Municipal Court.
