Former Angels Outfielder Dies (yardbarker.com) — Youngstown native and former MLB outfielder Andy Kosco has died at 84, after a decade-long career that included stints with the Angels, Yankees, Dodgers, and Reds. After baseball, he returned home, ran the Goulish-Kosco Insurance agency with offices in Struthers and Boardman, and earned a degree from Youngstown State University. He is survived by his wife, five children, siblings, and grandchildren.
   

3. Goodwill donates $5,000 to support Austintown building explosion residents (mahoningmatters.com) — Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries has donated $5,000 to the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley to help residents affected by the Austintown building explosion. Backed by Giving Tuesday and round‑up donations, Goodwill also brought racks of clothing and essentials to a United Way event, ensuring displaced neighbors quickly received practical help close to home.
   

4. Northeast Ohio dog named Onyx who spent 7 years in shelter finally adopted (cleveland19.com) — A Youngstown shelter dog named Onyx, who spent seven years at the Animal Charity of Ohio in Mahoning County, is finally heading to a forever home just after Christmas. Local supporters, including a Cleveland influencer and Youngstown businesses, helped spotlight him and cover costs, and the shelter plans a red-carpet sendoff as he leaves this Saturday.
   

5. Patricia Burnett, Boardman, Ohio (wkbn.com) — Youngstown-born Patricia Burnett, a longtime Boardman resident devoted to her family, has passed away at 83. Known for her handmade baby blankets, pies, and love of travel, she leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sister. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Calvary Cemetery, with no calling hours or services per her wishes.
